Komen Baton Rouge’s Worship in Pink program invites faith-based organizations to come together and spread the lifesaving message of breast cancer early detection. Worship in Pink is a program designed to open the lines of communication about breast health, promote breast cancer education, and celebrate the lives of those who have fought against breast cancer.
Participation in Worship in Pink is easy. The toolkit provides ideas for how you can Worship in Pink at your church. Each congregation is encouraged to use the Worship in Pink program to celebrate breast cancer survivors and co-survivors in their community during the month of October. For example, your organization could host a special luncheon for survivors, encourage the congregation to wear pink, or invite survivors to speak about their experience with the disease.
This year, we are focusing on Clinical Trials. We will provide pink ribbons, our local screening card, and information about clinical trials. We also have additional fact sheets below which churches can print and distribute to their congregations to enhance their program. Spanish educational materials are available upon request.
Kick Off party will be held on September 24, 2018 at 6pm at the Komen Baton Rouge office.
